New Bandolero, Nelson Robustos Debut in Sampler

Earlier this month, Selected Tobacco S.A. held an event to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new factory and aging facility in Madrid. Those who attended the event were given a sampler that included five cigars, two of which are new.

You’ll be able to buy the same sampler, but you will only be able to do so from retailers who went to the event in Spain.

The new Selected Tobacco Robusto Edition Set includes five cigars packaged in individual tubes, each from a different Selected Tobacco brand. Of those, the Bandolero Premium Atrevidos and Nelson Hidalgos are new vitolas for their respective lines, while the remaining three cigars are existing releases.

• Atabey Brujos (5 x 52)
• Bandolero Premium Atrevidos (5 x 52)
• Nelson Hidalgos (5 x 50)
• Alfonso Añejo No. 2 (5 x 52)
• Byron Poemas (5 x 52)

After being rolled in Costa Rica, the cigars are sent to Spain for aging, where they undergo Selected Tobacco’s aging process, which involves spending four to five years in specialized aging rooms that are lined with five different varieties of cedar, which the company says imparts “unrivaled depth and character.”

“For collectors and retailers fortunate enough to secure a set, the Robusto Edition represents more than a collection of cigars,” reads a press release. “It is a commemorative release tied to a defining moment in the Selected Tobacco story, bringing together the aging process, award winning presentations, and an exclusive first look at two new sizes.”

Each Robusto Edition Set has an MSRP of $200.
