My Father Releasing Limited Edition Le Bijou 1922 Connecticut in November

My Father Cigars has announced that next month, it will be releasing a limited edition version of its Le Bijou 1922 line that uses a Connecticut-seed wrapper.

Full details of the blend aren’t being released by the company, but the core Le Bijou 1922 line uses a dark, Nicaraguan habano oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. While images of this new version haven’t been released, it’s expected that the limited edition will use a much lighter-colored wrapper consistent with Connecticut-seed leaves.

If mention of a Connecticut-seed wrapped Le Bijou 1922 sounds familiar, it’s because back in 2012, My Father created one for Federal Cigar’s 91st anniversary, a 6 1/2 x 42 lonsdale called the My Father Le Bijou 1922 Federal Cigar 91st Cervantes Connecticut, which used an Ecuadorian-grown, Connecticut-seed wrapper. More sizes of that blend were released in subsequent years, including a 5 5/8 x 46 corona gorda, a 4 1/2 x 50 petit robusto, a 5 5/8 x 50 grand robusto, and a 5 1/2 x 54 belicoso that was created for the store’s 97th anniversary, with all of them in very limited amounts. A representative of the company didn’t offer a comparison of this new cigar to the one created for Federal Cigar.

For this release, My Father is offering two sizes: a 5 1/4 x 52 robusto priced at $12, and a 6 x 54 toro priced at $13, both of which come in 20-count boxes. The company produced the cigars at its factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, with production is limited to 1,500 boxes of each size.

My Father showed off the new cigars at the 2026 Tobacconists’ Association of America meeting earlier this week, but it isn’t an exclusive release for the organization’s retail members. They are slated to ship to stores in November, though a specific date has not yet been announed.

The Le Bijou 1922 line debuted in 2009 and was created by José “Pepín” García as a tribute to his father, José García Alayón, who was born in 1922. The name is French for “the jewel.”
