HVC Pan Caliente 10th Anniversary Shipping to Stores

On Thursday, Aug. 13, the Pan Caliente 10th anniversary will begin shipping to stores.

Officially, the cigar is called “Pan Caliente de HVC 10th Anniversary Limited Edition 2026.” It’s offered in a lone 6 7/8 x 54 double toro size, using an all-new blend. That includes a habano 2000 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Peru. The Peruvian tobacco is pelo de oro, which translates into golden hair, is known for its unique golden color and the difficulties associated with growing it. The varietal has been banned in Cuba due to its propensity to attract mold, but it’s grown in a few places outside of the island, including Peru.

This is the first time that HVC has released a cigar with Peruvian tobacco.

As the cigar’s name implies, it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Pan Caliente. That first release was a 5 x 50 robusto with a 109-style cap, a cigar inspired by hot cakes.

Since then, the Pan Caliente family has turned into a series of regular production lines for HVC. In 2020, the brand was brought back for the Hot Cake line, which is a regular production release that has since been greatly expanded. In 2023, HVC added the Hot Cake Golden and a year later, Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf was added, the fourth version of Pan Caliente.

The original Pan Caliente was made at Raíces Cubanas in Honduras but eventually moved to the Aganorsa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Today, HVC’s cigars are made at its own factory in Estelí.
