Fermin Perez Jr. has announced a pair of changes for his cigar company: he’s moving production of his cigars to Tabacalera Familia Disla S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, and he’s moving distribution of his cigars to Domain Distribution. Both changes are designed to make it easier for retailers to order, restock and receive the brand’s portfolio through a single distribution operation.
“For me, the cigar always comes first,” said Perez. “Familia Disla gives us a strong home for production, while Domain Distribution gives our retail partners a simpler way to order, restock and keep Fermin Perez Cigars on their shelves.”
Perez will continue to be directly involved with tobacco selection, blend development, and final approval, with a press release noting that the cigars will continue to reflect Perez’s approach to blending, which is shaped by his Cuban heritage and Miami roots.
The Fermin Perez Cigars portfolio has seven lines: Bold, Classic, Esmeralda, Royal, Miami, Puro Estelí and Serie de Oro. Perez told halfwheel that the pricing will remain the same on his lines, and the blends will remain the same. He did say that the quality of tobacco he now has access to has improved, so the quality of the cigars have improved.
Domain Distribution was launched in August as an extension of the company launched by Daniel Lance and Esteban Disla. It only distributes brands made at Tabacalera Familia Disla S.A., debuting with Los Amigos Cigars. It is based in Kansas City, Kan., and provides merchant-of-record services, wholesale ordering, sales, fulfillment, retailer support, reconciliation, and brand settlement through one connected system, including an updated platform it is developing and plans on launching in the near future, and which will also provide tools for retailers to manage inventory and orders while providing analytics and additional information.
Both changes have gone into effect, with the cigars now available for retailers to order via Domain Distribution.
Update (Sept. 27, 2026) — Added additional information from Perez, who said that his blends and pricing will not be changing with the move.
