The Perez-Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance will be returning to store shelves in the coming weeks for its fourth installment, and with a new blend to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
That new blend uses a dark Connecticut habano wrapper, an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers sourced from Condega, Jalapa and Estelí, including some grown by ASP. The company says that the result is “a rich, layered smoking experience that delivers depth, complexity, and balance worthy of the occasion it celebrates.”
“As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, I reflect on the opportunities this country has given me and my family,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. in a press release. “I came to the United States with a dream and the belief that through hard work and perseverance, anything was possible. This country made that dream a reality. Pledge of Allegiance is my tribute to the American Dream and to the values that have inspired generations for 250 years. Like America itself, this blend brings together different elements to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It is a celebration of freedom, opportunity, and the enduring spirit that continues to define this nation.”
Pledge of Allegiance will once again be offered in two sizes; the first is a 6 x 54 toro that is priced at $22 per cigar and limited to 1,776 boxes of 10 cigars, honoring the year that the United States declared its independence.
Second is the 6 3/8 x 58 Rockets vitola, which will be limited to just 250 individually numbered boxes, commemorating the country’s 250th anniversary. The company added that this will feature a distinct blend, but has not yet said how it will differ from the toro size. Pricing has not yet been announced for the Rockets, with the company saying details will be announced closer to the release date.
Both sizes are set to begin shipping later this month.
