Wildfire Cigar Co. says that its latest release shows off the “lighter, more elegant side” of the company’s blending philosophy.
Radio Octave is a 5 3/4 x 48 parejo that uses a five-year-old Ecuadorian corojo wrapper over a Sumatra-seed binder from an undisclosed country, and uses corojo ligero, criollo 98 and Nicaraguan tobacco for the fillers. It was made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $16 and they are sold in 10-count boxes. It is already shipping to stores.
Radio Octave is a limited edition cigar, though the company isn’t saying how many it made. Jeremy McDonald, Wildfire’s founder, told halfwheel that production was based exactly on the number of orders he received. It’s described as a one-and-done limited edition release.
This release is part of Wildfire’s pivot to a new approach. The company no longer has regular production offerings and instead is selling limited editions on a regular basis. Recently, it shipped cigars like Dead Drift and The Fault Line. McDonald says the series is informally called the Camp Counselor Enrollment Program.
