Last month, United Cigars released the Independence Firecracker, a new limited edition cigar for its long-running Firecracker series of cigars.
As it turns out, that was only part of the plan.
Next month, United Cigars will release that blend in two traditional vitolas, without the firecracker’s signature fuse, and as a regular production line. The Independence line will be offered in Robusto (4 7/8 x 50, $10.50) and Toro (5 7/8 x 50, $11). Blend-wise, it uses a Mexican habano wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, the same as the Firecracker release. The line is made at the Arnold André Dominicana S.R.L. factory.
Each cigar will be offered in a metal tin of 12 cigars, which the company says can double asn ashtray.
“Why mess with success?” said Oliver Nivaud, director of operations for United Cigars, in a press release. “The Independence Firecracker exceeded every expectation. Rather than retire a blend people fell in love with, we’re making Independence a permanent part of the Arnold André portfolio.”
The company also serves as the American distributor for Arnold André.
United Cigars says that it will ship the new Independence vitolas on Thursday, Aug. 27.
