On Wednesday, Tobacconist of Greenwich will hold Titans of Tobacco, a unique multi-vendor event featuring principals from six different family-owned cigar companies, each of which is bringing an exclusive cigar to the event.
The final cigar, Arturo Fuente’s entry, has been announced as an OpusX 25 Toro, specifically, a soft-pressed 6 x 52 toro. This is neither the first OpusX 25 Toro nor the first one to go to the Greenwich, Conn. retailer. Last fall, the store released a round toro as part of an annual Arturo Fuente event. Neither OpusX 25 toro is part of Arturo Fuente’s regular production price list.
Each 10-count box is priced at $950; some boxes are being sold online. Production numbers are not being disclosed.
The June 10 event will feature Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. of Arturo Fuente, Nicholas Melillo of Foundation, Hendrik “Henke” Kelner and Klaas Kelner, Litto Gomez of La Flor Dominicana, Jorge Padrón of Padrón, and Eladio Díaz of Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera. In addition to the ticketed dinner, an auction featuring rare cigars will take place to raise money for Cigar Rights of America.
