A new line that Lure Cigars sold exclusively to retailers who attended the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show is now on shelves.
Last week, Lure Cigars began shipping The Wahoo, a new line that uses Mexican San Andrés wrapper covering a Nicaraguan binder from Estelí and filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua. Like the rest of the company’s portfolio, the cigars are being made at the La Tabacaria factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

There are two box-pressed torpedo vitolas of The Wahoo, both packaged in 10-count craft paper bundles:
- The Wahoo The Ono (6 x 52) — $16 (Bundle of 10, $160)
- The Wahoo The Kingfish (6 1/2 x 52) — $16 (Bundle of 10, $160)
The Ono is limited to 1,700 cigars, while The Kingfish is limited to 2,500 cigars. Lure uses a fishing theme for its brand, and The Wahoo is the latest line to be named after a fish. Ono is a Hawaiian name for wahoo, which is also sometimes referred to as “Pacific kingfish.”
“I’m a fan of San Andrés and was excited to work with this leaf again for this limited run,” said Lou Cross III, founder of Lure Cigars, in a press release. “The point of the torpedo tip reminded me of offshore fishing with my dad—specifically the long, tapered body of the sportfish, the wahoo.”
Lure Cigars are distributed by Valacari Cigars.
