Loaisiga Cigars Releasing El Cadejo in November

Loaisiga Cigars has a new cigar line coming to select retailers next month, with a worldwide rollout slated for the next six months.

It’s called El Cadejo, named for one of Central America’s most enduring folk legends about two spirit dogs that appear on lonely roads at night, a story often told by elders in the Nicaraguan countryside. “No one knows where they come from, only that there are two. The White Cadejo is a guardian of light that walks beside the traveler; the Black Cadejo is a powerful force born of the shadows,” the company wrote in a press release.

Both cigars are Nicaraguan puros. The White Cadejo, also called “The Guide,” uses a sun grown habano wrapper from Jalapa, a binder from Jalapa, and fillers from Estelí, Condega, Pueblo Nuevo.

The Black Cadejo, known as “The Guardian,” uses a habano maduro wrapper, a binder from Estelí, and fillers from Condega, Estelí and Pueblo Nuevo. The company calls the White Cadejo a medium-strength cigar with notes of cedar, almond, and warm sweetness, while the Black Cadejo is a full-strength blend marked by roasted coffee, cocoa, and pepper.

Both lines are offered in the same four sizes ranging from the 3 1/2 x 52 short robusto to the 6 x 60 toro gordo. They come priced betwen $9 and $12 per cigar, are made at the company’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and offered in 20-count boxes.

“Every Nicaraguan grows up hearing about the Cadejo,” said Silvio Loaisiga, general manager and co-owner of Loaisiga Cigars, in a press release. “We wanted a brand that tells that story the way our tobacco does: one blend for the light and one for the night, both from the same land. With El Cadejo, the smoker chooses their Cadejo,”

The cigars will debut with Florida retailers in November, though a specific date has not yet been set. Retailers in other states will get them in January 2027, while retailers outside the U.S. will start receiving them in April.
