La Aurora Hors D'Age 2025

La Aurora has announced the release of its La Aurora Preferidos Hors d’Age 2025 LE (Limited Edition). The name Hors D’Age is French for “beyond time”. La Aurora says this cigar goes through a 12-year cycle from when the tobacco seeds are sold to when it reaches consumers. As a part of that process, the cigar itself spends extra time in the aging room.  The Hors D’Age is released on a near-annual basis in small batches because of the aging required for the tobaccos. This year, it comes in both a Toro (5 3/4 x 54) and Lancero (6 7/8 x 40) format.

The blend is the same as it has been since its inception. It features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and binder. The fillers are long-filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Nicaragua.

“From seed to cigar, the journey for this release began 12 years ago,” says Manuel Inoa, La Aurora Master Blender in a press release.. “As a result, we named it Hors d’Age, which is taken from the French cognac designation, literally translating to ‘beyond age.’ Just as Hors d’Age cognac represents exceptional quality developed through time, we set out to create an annual release that reflects the highest level of quality through expert aging and blending.”

Inoa says the Lancero takes things a step further. “The combination of these aged tobaccos in a format that accentuates the Ecuador Sumatra wrapper is something that I’ve smoked personally each year; however, I am now excited to share this format with the rest of my friends in the U.S.”

Pricing comes in at SRP $472.50 per box ($31.50 per cigar) for the Toro. Meanwhile, the Lancero comes in at SRP $375.00 per box ($25.00 per cigar). Both sizes come in 15-count boxes.
