As part of Atlantic Cigar Co.’s 30th anniversary, the Pennsylvania-based retailer has landed an exclusive size of one of HVC’s most popular lines.
The HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf Atlantic Cigar 30th Anniversary is a box-pressed 6 1/2 x 48 short Churchill, a bit shorter and thinner than the regular production Corona Gigantes, which measures 6 7/8 x 50. The new vitola uses the same blend as the regular production sizes: a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa, Nicaragua.
Reinier Lorenzo, founder of HVC, told halfwheel that he made 1,000 boxes for the retailer.
This is the first of two new vitolas for the line. The company has already announced the Gladiators, a new 6 1/2 x 56 box-pressed figurado, which is expected to ship to stores nationwide soon.
Atlantic Cigar Co. is owned by the Scipioni family. While the company is best known for Atlantic, its online storefront, it also includes Cigars Republic stores in Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania. This is not the first time that HVC has made an exclusive size of one of its lines for Atlantic. In 2022, the retailer got a 4 1/2 x 56 short gordo version of the company’s Serie A line.
