A new cigar that would seem like it should be arriving in three months is just a week or two away from showing up at stores.
Creature from Tatuaje, a cigar that is part of the larger Monster Series family, though it is not officially one of the 13 main Monster Series releases, is set to arrive in the coming weeks. The cigar is a 6 7/8 x 52 perfecto that is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco and made at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $19.54 and production is limited to 7,000 boxes of 10 cigars.
New Havana Cigars—which is owned by Dan Welsh, who also works for Tatuaje—sent out an email advertising pre-orders, saying that the cigars were expected to ship to consumers by Friday, June 26.
The release very much looks like one of the 13 Monster Series cigars that Tatuaje typically releases in late September. Each of those cigars is named after a classic monster from literature. In 2008, Tatuaje launched the Monster Series with a cigar called The Frank. Since then, the Monster Series has gone on to become one of the most successful and prolific limited edition cigar series in history. In 2019, Tatuaje completed its planned 13 full-size Monster Series cigars, but by that point, it had already released a few samplers that used the blends of the Monster Series cigars but in smaller vitolas.
One of those samplers is how the Creature was introduced.
In 2021, the company released the Monster Mash sampler, which contained a smaller version of the 13 Monster Series cigars as well as an entirely new cigar, the Monster Mash Creature (5 3/8 x 48), which was based on the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (1954). Three years later, a second Creature cigar, measuring 5 1/4 x 52, was released as part of Monster Smash, another sampler. 
This is the first time that the Creature is getting a standalone release, packaged in boxes shaped like a coffin, similar to many other Monster Series releases before it.
In recent years, after completing the 13 original Monster Series cigars, Tatuaje has re-released the full-size Monster Series cigars. Those Monster Series Redux cigars typically arrive in September. So far, Tatuaje has re-released the first five Monster Series cigars, meaning The JV13 is next up. The Creature from Tatuaje will be the 101st Monster Series-related cigar Tatuaje has released.
