As July 4 approaches, cigar companies are rushing to get their cigars celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of America on store shelves. The latest is Fratello.
Today, the Fratello USA 250 is shipping to stores. It’s a 6 x 54 toro that uses a Nicaraguan wrapper over a Pennsylvania binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Pennsylvania. The cigar was rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $20. Like many companies, Fratello has opted to use 13-count boxes, a nod to the 13 original colonies, but unlike most companies, Fratello’s 250th cigar is quite limited. There will only be 250 boxes, a release of just 3,250 cigars.
“This project represents more than a milestone; it represents legacy, resilience, and the entrepreneurial spirit that built this country,” said Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello, in a press release when the cigar was announced in March. “The 13-count box symbolizes the original thirteen colonies — the core of a nation that changed the world.”
