Blood Medicine Edición Limitada #744 Released as Kings Cigar Club Exclusive

Woodinville, Wash.-based retailer Kings Cigar Club has released a new, exclusive vitola in Crowned Heads’ Blood Medicine line, made with the same blend as the original 2015 release.

The Blood Medicine Edición Limitada #744 is a 7 x 44 lonsdale vitola made up of an Ecuadorian habano wrapper covering an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed binder and Nicaraguan tobacco in the filler. The cigars were rolled at Eradio Pichardo’s D’Hatuey Tabacos S.A. factory.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $14.95, and it is packaged in 20-count boxes. The release is limited to just 4,000 cigars.

“From my personal experience lonsdale and lancero vitolas offer a greater wrapper-filler ratio, allowing the wrapper to play a more prominent role in shaping the cigar’s overall profile,” said Vince An, founder of Kings Cigar Club, in an email to halfwheel. “When we began developing this exclusive, we started with a 38-ring-gauge lancero. Through the blending process, we gradually increased the ring gauge to 44, carefully evaluating how each size affected the cigar’s balance, complexity, and depth. Ultimately, we felt that 44 ring gauge was the sweet spot.”

Blood Medicine has gone through numerous changes since its debut in 2015.

That year, Crowned Heads announced it would introduce a My Father-made, event-only cigar called Snake Oil that was composed of an Ecuadorian habano wrapper along with an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed binder and Nicaraguan filler. However, the company quickly ran into a trademark issue because The Outlaw Cigar Co., a retailer in Kansas City, Mo., owned the trademark for Snake Oil, leading Crowned Heads to rename the cigar Blood Medicine.

In 2022, Crowned Heads announced there would be a new Blood Medicine, once again an event-only cigar, but this time a Nicaraguan puro made by Pichardo. Two years later, in 2024, the company offered Blood Medicine as a cigar sold outside of events.

Last year, Crowned Heads then released three vitolas of the original habano-wrapped version for 2025 as well an extension called B-Positive. The B-Positive uses the same internal blend as the original Blood Medicine cigar, but the Ecuadorian habano wrapper was replaced by a Nicaraguan corojo leaf. Underneath is the same Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed binder and Nicaraguan fillers. That line was expanded to three different vitolas earlier this year.

According to An, boxes of the Crowned Heads Blood Medicine Edición Limitada #744 went on sale at Kings Cigar Club on Oct. 30.
