Casa Carrillo has announced the Battleborn 2026. It’s the second consecutive year for Battleborn, but 2026 features an all-new size and blend.

Battleborn is a project inspired by Lionel H. McKoy. Since 2017, McKoy has been the shipping manager at Casa Carrillo and boasts an impressive background as a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served for two decades as a Petty Officer Second Class. Throughout his military career, he served on several aircraft carriers, including the USS Midway, Forrestal, and Dwight D. Eisenhower. He participated in major operations during the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. The cigar debuted last year.

For the 2026 edition, the blend features an African Cameroon wrapper over dual binders from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The fillers also feature Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. This year’s size is a 6 x 52 Toro known as Heroes. The company produced a total of 2,000 21-count boxes. The 21 pays homage to the 21-gun salute.

“Battleborn is about honoring the people who show up when others need them most,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III in a press release. “Whether you serve in the military, protect your community as a police officer or firefighter, or respond when someone is having the worst day of their life, that commitment deserves our respect. Bringing Battleborn back for a second year gives us another opportunity to recognize those individuals and show our appreciation for everything they do.”

“Giving back has always been an important part of who we are as a company,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo. “Through Carrillo Cares, we have worked to support causes that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Battleborn continues that commitment by recognizing the people who serve our country and communities, while helping support the organizations that stand behind them and their families.”

“I’ve spent 55 years making cigars, and every blend has a story,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “With Battleborn, the blend may change, but the message stays the same. It’s about service, sacrifice, and respect. We want those who serve our country and protect our communities to know that their dedication is recognized and appreciated.”

Old Virginia Tobacco will launch the cigar at events in Virginia on October 22 and 23rd. The cigar will have a nationwide release before Veterans Day, November 11, 2026.
