For the third year in a row, Crowned Heads will release an exclusive cigar for the Canadian Market, but this year there is a contest involved.
The Moose Kick Limited Edition 2026 is a 4 7/8 x 56 robusto extra with a pigtail. While the size is slightly different than the 2024 and 2025 releases, the cigar continues to be made at Eradio Pichardo’s D’Hatuey Tabacos S.A. factory in Nicaragua, the same factory that makes Juárez and Mil Días for Crowned Heads.

While the blend remains the same on paper—a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers—Crowned Heads says that it has been refined for this newest edition.
“This year we created a cigar with a little more character, aiming to further refine the blend by enhancing the notes of sweetness, pepper and wood—above all—we dialed in the balancing acidity,” said Eradio Pichardo, owner of D’Hatuey Tabacos S.A., in a press release.
There are 560 bundles of 10 cigars made for the release, up from 500 bundles that were made for last year’s release. For the first time, the Moose Kick Limited Edition 2026 is shipping in 40-count cases designed for display on store shelves, each containing four 10-count bundles of the cigars.
Crowned Heads declined to give an MSRP for the Moose Kick due to pricing differences related to provincial taxes.

However, the biggest change is the announcement of “The Hunt for the Golden Crown”, a contest.
Ten of the 5,600 cigars have specially designed bands featuring gold accents and a golden crown positioned above the moose’s head, concealed beneath the regular band. However, due to Canada’s plain packaging laws, all the cigars are covered by plain bands that are placed above the normal packaging.
Crowned Heads and Brigham Enterprises, its Canadian distributor, have created a contest. Anyone who purchases the cigars and finds one of the 10 gold bands will win a prize.

That prize is a special five-cigar sampler containing two Moose Kick Limited Edition 2024 cigars, two Moose Kick Limited Edition 2025 cigars and one Moose Kick Limited Edition 2026 cigar. The retailer where the winning cigar was purchased will receive a commemorative gold Moose Kick tin-plate wall sign. All winning bands must be claimed by June 1, 2027.
Moose Kick was developed by Miguel Schoedel, Crowned Heads’ national sales manager, and Richard Joseph, the premium cigar category manager for Brigham Enterprises.
The name of the line is a Canadian take on the Four Kicks Mule Kick, a limited edition release from Crowned Heads that debuted in 2012. In an email, Miguel Schoedel, vp of sales at Crowned Heads, told halfwheel that the Moose Kick Limited Edition 2026 will start shipping to retailers this week.
