Caldwell’s The Queen is Dead Coming Later This Month (Update)

First, it was Long Live the King. Then it was The King is Dead. Followed by Long Live the Queen. And soon, The Queen is Dead.

Those are all brands from Caldwell Cigar Co., dating back to 2014 when the company itself debuted. In recent weeks, Caldwell’s social media has been teasing an upcoming release, The Queen is Dead.

It is the first regular production Caldwell blend that was developed entirely after Laudisi Enterprises acquired Caldwell Cigar Co. in March 2024. Robert Caldwell, the brand’s founder, and William Ventura, a longtime manufacturing partner, developed the blend, which uses a Dominican habano 2000 wrapper over Dominican fillers. It’s described as a medium-bodied cigar, and Caldwell has said that if you like Long Live the Queen or Anastasia blends, you should like this one.

“This is the stick I have been most excited for since we dropped the original Long Live the Queen a few years back,” said Caldwell in a statement. “QID is a very well-balanced, medium-bodied cigar. I find it to be in almost perfect harmony. It has just the right amount of everything that I like, and all of it plays together very well. I’ve been playing with this blend for a while. We made it together with William Ventura — he is my go-to for my favorite blends.”

Laudisi Enterprises says it hopes to ship the cigar by the end of October.
