At this week’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026 in Cannes, France, Habanos S.A. will unveil the new Montecristo Fragata.
The company teased the release with a video posted to social media. While the video contains a stylized drawing of the box, it does not contain any details about the cigar itself, other than that it will come in boxes of 20. Representatives for Habanos S.A. did not reply to an email seeking more details.
Curiously, a French government price list that went into effect on Sept. 1 has the Fragata listed at €310 ($355) per box, a suspiciously low price.
A caption with the post described the boxes as a travel humidor.
Habanos S.A. has long used the annual TFWA conference to unveil one new cigar, typically an item that will be sold through the travel and duty-free segment. In 2024, the Cohiba Vistosos was shown off during the event; last year, the Cuban cigar giant showed off the Partagás Royales.
TFWA 2026 runs from Sept. 27-Oct. 1.
