Eastern Standard Silk Road Returns as Smokingpipes Exclusive

The Eastern Standard lancero has returned for a limited edition release.

Formally, it’s called the Eastern Standard Silk Road, a 7 1/4 x 40 lancero. Blend-wise, it uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican criollo 98 viso, Dominican corojo ligero and Nicaraguan habano seco. It is described as the strongest of the Eastern Standard vitolas.

The cigar was introduced in 2014, then limited to a 12,000-cigar production run. Like that release, the 2026 version was made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic.

This 2,400 cigar-run is exclusive to Smokingpipes.com. The retailer is part of Laudisi Enterprises, which is one of America’s largest pipe tobacco companies and also the owner of Caldwell Cigar Co.
