La Aurora Cigars has launched a branded cigar lounge in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. This new lounge is situated on the 11th floor of the Residence Inn by Marriott Santiago de los Caballeros and opened for business this past summer.
If the Residence Inn in Santiago sounds familiar, it has served as the host hotel for the annual Procigar Festival. Up until now, one amenity that was missing was a cigar lounge. That has now changed, as it is the home to La Aurora’s first branded lounge in Santiago. The hotel opened in 2024, and it is part of a major hotel expansion in the region that is home to the La Aurora factory and the epicenter of the Dominican cigar industry.
The La Aurora factory was founded in 1903 and is the oldest operating factory in the Dominican Republic. As you walk toward the entrance to the lounge, it is adorned with pictures that recount the history of La Aurora and the people behind La Aurora.
There is a humidor focusing on La Aurora and E. Leon Jimenes-branded cigars that come from La Aurora’s factory.
There is a full-stocked bar highlighted by La Aurora’s rums.
The lounge is focused on personalized service in both the humidor and the bar.
The lounge offers ample smoking areas and features La Aurora-branded decor.
There are also panoramic views of the city of Santiago
