Viva La Vida Connecticut Churchill Shipping Tomorrow

Tomorrow, July 2, Artesano Del Tobacco will ship the first of two planned line extensions for its Viva La Vida Connecticut line.

The Viva La Vida Connecticut Churchill was announced last year, previewed for retailers in April, and, after a bit of a delay, is now ready to head to stores. It’s a 7 x 54 version of the Churchill vitola that uses the Viva La Vida Connecticut blend: an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Like the rest of Artesano Del Tobacco’s portfolio, it is made by AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $16. This is a regular production item.

“Our clients have always played an important role in helping shape our brands,” said the company in a press release. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience this new Churchill. It took a little longer to bring it to market because we wanted to give the tobacco all the time it needed to develop the flavor profile we envisioned. Working alongside our good friend AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua, we created a Churchill that is exceptionally creamy, smooth, naturally sweet, and beautifully balanced. This blend performs incredibly well in this vitola, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who shared their feedback and encouraged us to add this size to the line.”

They are referring to a survey the company performed last year, asking customers which new vitolas they’d like added to the line. The Churchill size was the leading vote-getter, with 43 percent of respondents requesting the size. The second-highest vote-getter was a lancero, which the company plans to release later this year.
