Principle Martinique Corona Debuts at Small Batch Cigar

The third vitola of Principle Cigars’ Martinique line is now available, though for the moment, only at one retailer.

This week, Small Batch Cigar—the online storefront of MAXAMAR Ultimate Cigars in Orange, Calif.—has started selling the Principle Martinique Corona, a 5 1/2 x 43 corona version of the Martinique line. On paper, the blend is the same as the other two vitolas: an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Dominican Monte Plata binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and the U.S.A. Darren Cioffi, founder of Principle Cigars, told halfwheel that the internal blend of the Corona was tweaked so that the profile lands between the existing Corona Gorda (6 x 46, $15) and Lancero (7 1/2 x 39, $16) vitolas.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $14.

Cioffi planned on adding the Martinique Corona as a regular production addition, though Small Batch Cigar bought all 250 boxes of the first production run. As such, the cigar will be exclusive to the store until the second shipment arrives, either later this year or early next year.
