Powstanie has announced the release of the Powstanie SBC 26. The SBC 26 is the sixth installment of Powstanie Cigar’s limited edition SBC series. SBC stands for “Surrounded by Champions,” and the name pays homage to the people who helped to shape the Powstanie brand. The series was planned to see a new installment on a biennial basis – although it hasn’t worked out quite that way.
There are two common denominators with the Powstanie SBC series to date: 1) All of the cigars have been barber-pole releases; 2) All of the cigars have been Corona Gorda sizes. The following is a list of SBC releases, including the year released and the barber-pole wrappers.
The SBC 26 is a 5 1/2 x 46 Corona Gorda. The barber-pole-style wrapper leaf is Ecuadorian Sumatra with Mexican San Andrés tobacco. Beneath the wrapper is a Brazilian Mata Fina binder. The fillers incorporate Dominican Piloto Mejorado ligero with Nicaraguan components (Condega tobacco, Estelí viso and Pueblo Nuevo ligero from the 2021 crop). Production comes from Fábrica de Tabacos NicaSueño S.A.
The factory produced 500 20-count boxes. Pricing is SRP $18.00/cigar. The cigar is currently shipping to retailers.
