Perdomo Shifts 30th Anniversary to 20-Count Boxes

Perdomo has announced a packaging change for its 30th Anniversary lines, shifting from 30-count boxes to 20-count boxes, as it looks to help retailers increase movement of the line.

In a letter to retailers, the company said that it has listened to their feedback and made box purchases of the line more affordable. The new 20-count format means that boxes are between $135 and $155 less per box when compared to the 30-count box, pictured below.

The Perdomo 30th Anniversary made its debut at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show in celebration of Nick and Janine Perdomo marking three decades in the cigar business, a milestone that was reached in 2022. What is now known as Perdomo Cigars dates back to August 1992, and an upstart cigar operation called Nick’s Cigar Co., based out of Miami. In those three-plus decades, the company was renamed to Perdomo Cigars. In addition to being a cigar brand, the company operates an impressive factory in Nicaragua that not only produces cigars but makes its own boxes, while growing a significant amount of the tobacco used in its cigars.

Nick Perdomo Jr. previously said that the 30th Anniversary “encapsulates not only the essence of our team’s dedication to the finest quality and craftsmanship, but it also represents our longstanding commitment to our cherished patrons.”

The Perdomo 30th Anniversary is available in three blends, one using an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, another using a Nicaraguan maduro wrapper, and the third using a Nicaraguan sungrown wrapper. All three use a Nicaraguan binder and filler and are offered in five box-pressed sizes.

A Perdomo representative told halfwheel that the company has exhausted its supply of the 30-count boxes and has begun shipping the 20-count boxes as of today.
