Perdomo Legacy Getting Three New Vitolas

Next month, Perdomo’s popular Legacy lines will get three new vitolas.

They are coming by way of new 11-count samplers that will be offered in the three wrapper options that the company introduced last year. Each Legacy—Connecticut, Maduro and Nicaraguan Sun-Grown—will get its own sampler. Because of how Perdomo designs its portfolio of cigars, each sampler contains the same vitolas, only the blends differ.

The three new vitolas are:

• Perdomo Legacy Belicoso Fino (5 x 54)
• Perdomo Legacy Gran Corona (6 x 48)
• Perdomo Legacy Short Robusto (4 1/4 x 54)

At least for now, they will be offered inside of these new samplers, called the Perdomo Legacy Collection. Each sampler will include:

• 1 Perdomo Legacy Short Robusto (4 1/4 x 54)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Belicoso Fino (5 x 54)
• 2 Perdomo Legacy Robusto (5 x 54)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Epicure (6 x 54)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Father & Son (6 x 48/60/52)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Gordo (6 x 60)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Gran Corona (6 x 48)
• 2 Perdomo Legacy Gran Belicoso (6 x 60)
• 1 Perdomo Legacy Churchill (7 x 54)

Regardless of blend, each sampler has an MSRP of $150.

The Perdomo Legacy is built around a hybrid seed that Perdomo developed a decade ago by crossing a Cameroon seed with a Cuban seed and then planting it at one of its farms in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Nicaragua Shade-Grown version uses it as a wrapper, while the other two blends use it as a binder. The company says that the hybrid is aged for at least a decade, while the other tobaccos undergo significant aging as well.

Nicholas Perdomo III created the Legacy project for the 60th birthday of his father, Nicholas Perdomo Jr. In a post on Instagram, Perdomo III said the three new vitolas were considered for the original release, but in keeping with Perdomo’s typical approach, only five vitolas were introduced.

Earlier this year, the company expanded the brand by adding the Legacy Father & Son, a 6 x 48/60/52 offered in the same three wrapper options. Each sampler includes one Father & Son.

Perdomo III told halfwheel the company plans on shipping the new samplers in early November, ahead of the holiday season.
