Few cigar brands have mascots, but STG’s Punch brand does, and the company is celebrating the iconic character with a new cigar line called Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars that will begin shipping to stores on July 1.

The line uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a seco binder from Nicaragua’s Jalapa region, and Nicaraguan fillers, which a press release says offers “tasting notes of wood, cream, and spice.”

The cigar are made at STG Estelí in Nicaragua and offered in three sizes:

  • Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars  Toro (6 x 54) — $7.89 (Box of 20, $157.80)
  • Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars Gigante (6 x 60) — $8.99 (Box of 20, $179.80)
  • Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars The Big Slapper (7 x 70) — $10.99 (Box of 20, $219.80)

According to a press release, The Big Slapper is the biggest size that a Punch cigar has been released in.

“Mr. Punch is a true icon not just in the cigar industry, but in pop culture. So it only made sense to create a cigar that captures his spirit. This new blend delivers a classic Punch smoking experience with a flavor profile tailored to the modern consumer. We know it’s going to be a hit.”

The character, a jester or Punchinello, was inspired by the “Punch and Judy” puppet shows and has been featured on both the Cuban and non-Cuban versions of the brand’s packaging dating back to the mid-1800s.

The Mr. Punch by Punch Cigars is a regular production, full-time release.
