Lure Cigars has announced its latest limited edition release, The Fat Matt. The company calls this a follow-up to the Nereus, a collaboration done with Valacari Cigars. It also pays homage to a new member of owner Lou Cross’ family.
“My son’s fiancé is from South Florida and her father, Matt, is a new cigar enthusiast and now part of the family. He catches Peacock Bass in the canal system behind their house. Since we already have a cigar called “The Fat Tony”, a 5×54 in the Corojo Oscuro line, it seemed fitting to name this release after him,” commented Lou Cross in a press release.
As for the blend, it features an aged Sun-grown Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan ligero binder from Estelí. The fillers are a combination of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa and Honduran tobacco from Jamastra. The Fatt Matt comes in one size – a 5 x 54 Robusto Grande. Production is limited to 4,000 cigars, and pricing comes in at SRP $15.00/cigar.
The Fat Matt comes in ten-count paper bundles. The bundles and bands feature Peacock Bass artwork inspired by the fish found in the subtropical waters of South America and Florida.
