Gellis Family Cigars Essentials on the Way to Retailers

Gellis Family Cigars has shipped the first cigar in a new core line named Essentials.

Essentials is a 4 1/2 x 32 petite corona made with an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper and binder, while the filler tobacco is grown in Nicaragua. Like many of the other Gellis Family Cigars products, Essentials is made at TABACALERA LA iSLA in the Dominican Republic. In April, the cigar was previewed at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

According to Cigar Aficionado, each cigar has an MSRP of $6.99, and it is packaged in 50-count cabinets. The company is also selling a green leather travel case priced at $100 that was specifically designed to hold six Essentials cigars.

“The Gellis Family Essentials was created to always have with you,” said the DROP Cigar Club website. “When our founder, Kyle Gellis, would travel, he always needed to have a smaller panetela sized cigar on him when time was short but he still wanted flavor and complexity. The Essentials provides just the perfect experience for this reason.”

Gellis is also the founder of DROP and is best known as the founder of Warped Cigars and also the founder of DROP Cigar Club. Gellis Family Cigars is distributed by Warped.

DROP lists tasting notes of “white pepper, cream, dried fruit, cedar, and vanilla.”

The company did not immediately reply to an email sent by halfwheel confirming that the cigars have shipped.
