For the most part, Habanos S.A.’s Edición Limitada cigars get a single release. However, later this year, one special Cohiba is returning for what will be its third act.
In 2017, Habanos S.A. released the Cohiba Talismán, a 6 1/8 x 54 double toro that came with a pigtail cap. It was part of the Cuban cigar giant’s Edición Limitada program, which sees the company typically release three new cigars each years, each in a non-regular production vitola and with tobacco aged for at least two years. Two years later, the Talismán was released again in the same packaging and utilizing tobacco “from the same harvest from which the (original) was produced,” according to Habanos S.A. at the time.
For 2026, as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Cohiba, the Talismán will become a regular production offering. Habanos S.A. announced that it will add it to the Cohiba Línea Clasica series later this year. In addition, Habanos S.A. had announced events and releases to celebrate that anniversary during the Festival del Habano XXVI that was scheduled for Feb. 23-27, but the Festival was officially canceled earlier today.
The Cohiba Talismán, as a regular production item, will be featured at an event in London on Oct. 7. Emails sent to Habanos S.A. for additional information on pricing, release details and availability were not immediately returned.
