Casdagli Ships Brothers of the Sabre Custodian & Flamboyant, Daughters of the Wind Rosado

Three new cigars from Casdagli are on the way to stores: one is an extension of an existing line, while the other two are additions to one of the company’s limited edition series.

The first release is Daughters of the Wind Rosado, a regular production line produced at the IGM Cigars factory in Costa Rica. There are five different vitolas, but not all of the sizes share the same blend. All five sizes use a Costa Rican habano rosado wrapper over a Costa Rican binder. Additionally, all five use Costa Rican and Dominican tobacco in the filler. However, the Daughters of the Wind Rosado Lonsdale gets Peruvian tobacco in the filler, while the other four vitolas have Nicaraguan tobacco in the filler.

The original Daughters of the Wind line is made with an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Costa Rican binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic and Peru. In March, Casdagli teased the Daughters of the Wind Rosado line, but at the time, the line was made up of slightly different sizes and the blend included a Dominican binder.

In addition, Casdagli has released two new additions to its Napoleon-inspired Brothers of the Sabre Series—formerly named The Napoleonic Collection—which debuted in 2023. The company said the series would honor generals from the Napoleonic era and that it would eventually release eight different blends over the span of four years.

The first new blend is Custodian, which was created to commemorate British officer Lieutenant-General Sir Hudson Lowe, who served alongside Czar Alexander I and was appointed Governor of Saint Helena, where Napoleon was exiled during the final years of his life.

The second cigar is Flamboyant, which honors Joachim Murat, one of Napoleon’s most celebrated cavalry commanders, who was also crowned the King of Naples.

Both blends are available in the same two vitolas: a 6 x 49 pirámide and a 6 x 52 toro. The cigars are being produced at the Kelner Boutique Factory located in the Dominican Republic.

Currently, the Brothers of the Sabre Series includes six different cigars; Casdagli plans on releasing the final two blends in the Brothers of the Sabre Series in 2028.

In an email, Graeme McMeekan, general manager at Casdagli Cigars, told halfwheel that boxes of all three releases started shipping to retailers on Oct. 15.
