Next week, Blackbird Cigar Company is shipping the Mockingbird Small Batch to select retailers. As the name indicates, it’s a small-batch production targeted to 37 retailers.
Blackbird Cigars is releasing this as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. Blackbird Cigars has named many of its releases after birds. The Mockingbird is known for its intelligence, fearless personality, unmistakable voice, and ability to create its own sound. The company says that the Mockingbird was: “Inspired by the crow blend. Made to speak for itself.” Blackbird Cigars says the Mockingbird has mastered the art of imitation for centuries, but Blackbird has “mastered the art of being different.”
The blend uses a Corojo wrapper over a Brazilian Cubra binder. The fillers are a mix of Corojo, Criollo ’98, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvania tobaccos. Mockingbird comes in one size – a 52 x 6 Toro. The initial release produced 500 ten-count boxes. Blackbird Cigars says the cigars were produced in the first quarter of 2025, but have been aging since.
“Imitation has never been part of our DNA. We didn’t spend ten years building Blackbird to sound like everybody else. We built it to have a voice of its own. Mockingbird is a reminder that inspiration can come from anywhere, but identity must come from within,” commented Jonas Santana, CEO & Co-Founder, in a press release.
Pricing is SRP $15.00/cigar or $150.00/box.
