At the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show in April, Sans Pareil showed off new boxes for the lines in its portfolio, no change more dramatic than the updated Gold Line boxes. This week, the new packaging has begun shipping to stores.
While the cigars themselves—both the blend and vitolas—are the same as before, the boxes have been updated, going from a matte look to a glossy piano finish. The line is offered in just two vitolas. The Super Lancero (13 1/2 x 40), which will continue to come in five-count boxes with each cigar in its own coffin, and the Jeddo (6 1/4 x 54), which is transitioning from a 10-count box to a 20-count box.
The Sans Pareil Gold uses a maduro wrapper—the country of origin and seed are not disclosed—over a Dominican binder and Dominican fillers. Sans Pareil says the tobacco used for the blend is aged for a decade. Like the rest of the Sans Pareil portfolio, it is made at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic.
The Sans Pareil Gold was introduced in 2017 in the Super Lancero size, albeit using a different blend that was topped off with an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper. In 2024, the company reblended the line and added the Jeddo.
