Cigar News – October 22, 2026

Nicaragua has spent much of the past two decades near the top of the cigar world, and more passionados than ever are coming to see where their cigars are made. A new independent website, nicaraguan-cigars.com, makes planning that trip easier.

Nicaraguan Cigars Website launched.

Written in English and run from Nicaragua, the guide focuses on the details visitors need most, such as addresses, opening hours and how to book, all checked locally and kept up to date.

Its guide on where to buy cigars in Nicaragua lists shops, lounges and factory stores in Managua, Granada, Estelí, León and San Juan del Sur, as well as the options at Managua’s international airport. A companion guide to cigar factory tours in Nicaragua answers the question most visitors ask first: which factories can I visit? It shows which factories in Estelí welcome visitors and which open by arrangement, and it covers the rolling workshops in Granada and day trips from Managua and Granada, with schedules, prices and booking details where they’re available.

The newest section is an events calendar. It leads with the Puro Sabor festival, returning from January 25 to 30, 2027, but it also tracks a growing local trend: rum and cigar pairings. Venues such as the restaurant Asados El Corral on the Carretera a Masaya and the Crowne Plaza hotel in Managua host evenings with Flor de Caña and local cigar makers, who explain how rum and cigars pair, how each is made and what sets their profiles apart. Most of these events are free and open to the public. When there is a cover charge, it is usually between 10 and 20 US dollars and typically includes the rum and the cigars.

The rest of the site covers the country’s tobacco story: the growing regions of Estelí, Condega, Jalapa and Ometepe, the makers behind many of today’s best-known brands, and a long-form section, “From Seed to Legend,” that follows a cigar from the field to the finished band. Its awards section gathers the honors Nicaraguan cigars have earned in the major magazine rankings, starting with Cigar Journal’s blind tastings, and credits each one to its source.

Done, and thank you.
