Warped Cigars has announced a new version of its Cloud Hopper line named Cloud Hopper Black.
Blend-wise, it uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers; for context, the original Cloud Hopper is a Nicaraguan puro. Second, while the Cloud Hopper Black cigars are being made at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA), the original Cloud Hopper cigars are made by Aganorsa.
Cloud Hopper debuted in 2017 as the first line of a sub-brand named Edition One, a collaboration between Warped Cigars founder Kyle Gellis and his brother Devin. In an email at the time, Kyle Gellis explained the meaning of the name Cloud Hopper:
My younger brother Devin and I both travel a lot, we constantly share stories of our times traveling, in the air, etc. So Cloud Hopper was a term we used to describe our journeys, it was something we both share, the love of travel but sometimes travel doesn’t go as expected.
An email from DROP Cigar Club, also owned by Kyle Gellis, indicates that boxes of the Cloud Hopper Black are available for shipment. Gellis did not reply to an email confirming if the cigar has begun shipping.
