You can now sign up to attend the 2027 edition of the Dominican Republic’s main cigar festival.
ProCigar, which is also the main Dominican cigar manufacturers’ association, has opened registration for its 2027 festival. Once again, the festival will run four days, Feb. 16-19, 2027, in Santiago de los Caballeros, home to most of the Dominican Republic’s cigar factories.
It starts on Tuesday night, with a welcome event at the rooftop of the Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel in Santiago. The next three days follow the same basic format: guests are able to choose from around six different tours to take during the day. Most involve a visit to a cigar factory, some are to tobacco farms, though there’s also an option for a beach day on Friday.
One of the changes for 2027 is a Wednesday “Hopping Tour,” which will involve visits to suppliers to the factories. Some previous ProCigar tours have included brief visits to some of these businesses, though this appears to be the first time they are being offered in this format
The other notable change is that Davidoff has left the organization, meaning tours to the Swiss company’s Dominican factories and farms are not offered for 2027.

Tabacalera de García, which is located hours away in La Romana, is not listed for tours. For previous festivals, ProCigar used to offer an optional early leg in La Romana that included opportunities to golf and visit the massive factory that produces many of the non-Cuban Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta cigars sold by Altadis U.S.A.
After the tours, each night has a dinner. Wednesday night is the traditional dinner, Thursday is the White Party at Santiago’s famous monument, while Friday is the gala dinner and auction.
The cost for the full program is $2,500, which includes ground transportation, meals, drinks and, of course, cigars. In addition, attendees are typically given a backpack, hat, shirts, lighter, cutter, ashtray and more. The $2,500 registration fee does not include airfare or hotel reservations.
Guests should expect at least 60 cigars, though depending on which tours they attend, they might be given closer to 100 cigars throughout the course of the week. Some of the companies are known to include exclusive cigars that are not offered for sale or even prerelease versions of upcoming releases.
Those interested in attending some but not all of the events have the option to purchase tickets to specific tours or dinners.
