Texas Tech Gets Second Bocock Brothers Cigar

Next month, a new cigar made for Red Raider Nation will go on sale.

Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars has announced the new Texas Tech Oil Field Reserve. It’s offered in a 6 x 52 toro with a Honduran maduro wrapper and fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and Paraguay. The name references the rich oil and gas history of West Texas, where the school is based.

“The Oil Field Reserve is for the Red Raiders who take it black,” said Matt Olivier of Bocock Brothers in a press release. “Full strength, West Texas inspired, hand rolled in Danlí, Honduras. A Honduran Maduro over a Honduran binder with filler from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Paraguay. Rich, oily, and uncompromising. That is what West Texas and Red Raider football deserve.”

Bocock Brothers already offers a Texas Tech-branded cigar, described as medium with a habano wrapper. The new Oil Field Reserve will go on sale in September, coinciding with the kickoff of the 2026 college football season.

As with many of the other officially licensed collegiate cigars from Bocock Brothers—the Houston-based company has agreements with around 20 colleges and universities—the cigars will be sold directly by Bocock Brothers and also offered to stores in and around the university.
