Arturo Fuente has announced that the Fuente Fuente OpusX ReXilient is shipping to retailers. This cigar was first seen at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show earlier this year.
Many cigar companies have been focusing on special releases to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. However, Carlito Fuente wanted to honor the memory of the fallen heroes and the individuals who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks in 2001. The year 2026 will mark the 25th anniversary of that tragic event. To commemorate this occasion, Arturo Fuente designed the OpusX ReXilient, continuing the theme of never forgetting the impact of that day.
“This project has been burning inside me since what I experienced in 9-11-2001 with my father while attending a boarding meeting with Ashton in Philadelphia. I was right across the street from City Hall and we had to be evacuated. Our country changed that day. I will never forget,” said Carlito Fuente in a statement to Cigar Coop.
Following the event, Fuente has contributed OpusX to various 9/11 fundraising initiatives. Two boxes of the ReXilient was donated to the Havana Nights Charity event in California that sold in auction for $20,000.00 each
The project’s packaging includes many details. Fuente has used the Stars and Stripes for many years following 9/11. The Fuente family has featured it at many events, and it even appears on the Arturo Fuente building. You see it on some existing Arturo Fuente boxes, and there’s even a Carlito bobblehead. Following 9-11, the Fuentes did a special version of the iconic Father and Son ad for American Airlines Magazine with the Stars and Stripes. One reason the Fuentes did that was loyalty to American Airlines, which the Fuentes were frequent customers of.
The Stars and Stripes also adorns the OpusX ReXiliet bands. Each box contains 20 cigars. This includes 16 7 x 48 Churchills and four 6 1/4 x 54 box-pressed Toros. The Toros are wrapped in the U.S. flag and are the first fully box-pressed cigars Fuente says it has produced. Each tray contains eight Churchills and two Toros. The Toros in each tray represent the Twin Towers.
Inside the box, the top sheet pays tribute to the fallen heroes. Carlito added, “This is the finished top sheet that goes in our new 911, 25th Anniversary Never Forgotten tribute to the Twin Towers first responders. There are actual badge numbers of a representation of those who paid the ultímate sacrifice on September 12th, 2021, from Fire, Police, and Port Authority Departments.”
Finally, the infinity symbol on the packaging symbolizes “never forgetting.”
Each box has an SRP of $535.00. Arturo Fuente says $11.00 per box will be donated to Tunnels to Towers. This nonprofit organization supports fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military service members, and their families.
The OpusX ReXilient appeared at the Freedom 250 celebration at the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic earlier this summer, where Arturo Fuente donated a box.
Carlito Fuente will be doing launch events in New Jersey (September 9), Brooklyn, NY (September 10), and Fort Bragg, North Carolina (September 11th). Fuente has also donated to the Hope for Heroes foundation, which supports families of fallen first responders. The September 10th event in New York has Fuente donating 120 boxes of cigars, and giving away 2 cigars to people in the VIP area.
Fuente has not disclosed the blend details of the OpusX ReXilient.
