Hooten Young Midnight Hammer Returning in October

Hooten Young’s limited edition, named after a U.S. military operation involving B-2 stealth bombers, is returning this fall.

The Midnight Hammer 2026 will be the same cigar as last year’s debut release: a 6 x 60 torpedo made with a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper covering a binder and filler blend of Nicaraguan tobacco. It has an unfinished, “shaggy” foot, and the cigars are being rolled at the Tabacalera CM factory in Nicaragua.

Pricing and production numbers have not yet been announced. While the cigars are staying the same, at least one thing is changing. The original release of the Midnight Hammer was sold exclusively in four-count bags, the 2026 version will come in 20-count boxes.

According to Jon Carney, there will be a presale of the Midnight Hammer 2026 on the Hooten Young website for retailers sometime in September, and the cigars are scheduled to ship to stores in October. Carney leads Bentley Tobacco | USA, which has a service agreement to manage Hooten Young’s premium cigar operation.

The limited edition line is named after Operation Midnight Hammer, a June 22, 2025, U.S. military operation involving seven B-2 bombers that bombed three different nuclear sites in Iran. According to USA Today, the operation was the first known operational use of a 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bomb known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators, or MOPs.
