Casa Carrillo has not one but two new international releases. shipping to stores this month. The company already announced the Perez-Carrillo Encore Noir II, but there’s also a second version of a different Encore.

The Perez-Carrillo Encore Edición Unica II is a 6 1/4 x 54 toro extra that uses a 109 head, meaning the top of the cigar is slightly tapered, something in between the standard parejo cap and the pointy tip of a belicoso. The company is referring to this vitola as “Amigos.” Blend-wise, the newest release is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos aged for at least five years.

Pricing has not been announced, but production is limited to 1,100 numbered boxes of 10 cigars, which have already begun shipping to stores.

The original Edición Unica, released in 2024, was a 6 x 56 double toro vitola, but without the 109 cap. That cigar was said to be made mostly of Nicaraguan tobaccos but with some Dominican fillers as well.

“Every Edición Única is an opportunity to create something truly special,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr., the company’s founder, in a press release. “With Amigos, we wanted to showcase the beauty of the No. 109 format while allowing carefully aged tobaccos to deliver remarkable balance, complexity, and refinement.”
