Next week, Tatuaje will ship five of the releases that it showed off at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show in April, extensions to the company’s Black Label, Havana VI and La Riqueza lines.
Tatuaje Black Label and Havana VI are each getting new regular production additions that celebrate the 20th anniversary of the two lines, though Havana VI was introduced in 2006 while Black Label debuted in 2007. All four cigars—each line is getting a pair of new SKUs—have a 20th anniversary secondary band.
Black Label was created after Pete Johnson, Tatuaje’s founder, returned from a trip to Cuba. While there, he said that he was able to smoke cigars made by rollers for them to smoke for themselves after-hours. Despite their rough appearance, he described them as some of the best cigars he smoked in Cuba. After returning, he went to the García family, who produce all of Tatuaje’s cigars, and tried to replicate one particular cigar.
The end result was a Nicaraguan puro, capped off with a sun-grown criollo-seed wrapper.
In 2007, the first Black Label debuted, a corona gorda offered in 19-count ceramic jars. Johnson described the cigar as his own personal cigar, hence the “Private Reserve” part of the name.
Both of the 20th anniversary vitolas feature a covered foot:
- Tatuaje Black Label Private Reserve Robusto (5 x 50) — $12 (Box of 20, $240)
- Tatuaje Black Label Private Reserve Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52) — $13 (Box of 20, $260)
Of note, both of the sizes have been released before as limited editions, though in round vitolas, whereas the 2026 versions have a soft box-press.
The Robusto, including its unique cap, was an event-only cigar, offered in cardboard three-packs. In 2009, Tatuaje introduced a Black Label Tubo—the exact same dimensions as the Torpedo—in a black metal tube. Production was said to be limited to around 50,000 cigars.
The Tatuaje Havana VI, is getting two different vitolas. One is the Británicas Extra vitola, which Tatuaje has used before for other lines, and is known here as Serie B. The other is Serie E, short for Edmundo, and appears to be the same size as the Montecristo Edmundo.
Blend-wise, Havana VI uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over dual Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

Finally, the El Triunfador Original line, which uses a Connecticut-broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan tobaccos, is getting a new Cazadores vitola. It measures 6 3/8 x 43.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $12 and they are packaged in boxes of 25 that display the cigars vertically.
All of these cigars are made at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí.
Update — Clarified that the new Black Label vitolas are box-pressed whereas the past releases of these two sizes were round.
