Buffalo Trace Special Selection Expands With Two New Vitolas

Share

In 2022, Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) released the Buffalo Trace Special F, a 6 x 60 figurado, hence the f in Special F. Shipping to stores this week are two new versions of that blend, part of what STG is calling the Buffalo Trace Special Selection.

Blend-wise, the cigars use an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper over a Brazilian Arapiraca binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The binder spends six months in spent bourbon barrels. The two new vitolas are the Special L, a 7 x 38 lancero, and Special S, a 7 3/4 x 62 salomón. The cigars are rolled at General Cigar Dominicana.

  • Buffalo Trace Special F (6 x 60) — $13 (Box of 10, $130)
  • Buffalo Trace Special L (7 x 38) — $11.50 (Box of 10, $115)
  • Buffalo Trace Special S (7 3/4 x 62) — $15 (Box of 10, $150)

The Buffalo Trace Special Selection is part of a series of collaborative cigars between STG and Sazerac & Co.’s Buffalo Trace Distillery. This line is distributed by Meier & Dutch, which is best known as the wholesale arm of Cigars International. Meier & Dutch sells cigars to other retailers, meaning these will be found at stores nationwide.

Update — The salomón measures 7 3/4 x 62.
