JM Brands has announced it is adding a 6 x 60 Double Toro size to its Española Cigars core lines: the Española Connecticut, Española Corojo and Española Maduro.
The company says that the size “answers growing consumer demand for larger ring gauge cigars while preserving the balance, complexity, and refinement that have become hallmarks of the Española brand.” It went on to say the larger ring gauge offers a cooler burn and a smooth smoking experience.
The blends of the three lines remain the same; the Española Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés maduro binder, and Dominican fillers. The Española Corojo’s wrapper comes from Ecuador, the binder is a Mexican San Andrés leaf, while the fillers are Dominican. The Española Maduro’s wrapper is a Mexican San Andrés leaf, while the binder and filler are Dominican.
Regardless of blend, the Española Double Toro will be priced at $15 per cigar and $300 for a box of 20 cigars.
“The 6 x 60 has become one of the most requested sizes among premium cigar smokers, and we wanted to ensure that when we introduced it, it truly represented what Española stands for,” said Anto Mahroukian, president of JM Brands Inc., in a press release. “Our goal wasn’t simply to make a larger cigar. We wanted each blend to maintain its balance, flavor, and character while providing the longer, cooler smoking experience that enthusiasts expect from this format. We’re excited to finally bring the Double Toro to our core lineup.”
The Española Double Toros are scheduled to begin shipping on Sept. 1.
