For the first cigar in Scrim by HutcH’s newest collection, owner Rick Hutchings drew on his passion for vintage rock album art. Specifically, the symbols and interior art from Led Zeppelin’s 1971 album, “IV.”
The handles are made out of buffalo horn, with the artwork added via reverse scrimshaw. As with Scrim by HutcH’s other cutters, the body is a XIKAR Xi3, which features 440C stainless steel blades with a Rockwell HRC 57 rating. The cutter can cut a 54-ring gauge cigar in half and is able to cut the cap of a cigar with up to a 60-ring gauge. For this release, Hutchings selected the all-black Phantom version.
Production is limited to 100 pieces, each of which is priced at $450 and comes with a square, black leather pouch designed to look like an album sleeve.
Hutchings noted that he is currently taking suggestions and requests for future installments in the collection of album art-inspired cutters.
