AG Cigars, a brand owned by Alejandro “Alex” González Arias, has two new releases made for some famous cigar-smoking celebrities.
There are two new cigars released under a new series called Legendary Moment, one for Jamie Foxx, the actor, and another for Ray Lewis, the retired NFL star. The Legendary Moment Jamie Foxx is a 5 9/10 x 58 parejo that uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Peru and an undisclosed country. The Legendary Moments Ray Lewis is a 6 1/5 x 52 gordo that uses an Ecuadorian habano 2000 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and an undisclosed country. They are made at the JTA Tobacco Company S.A. factory in Nicaragua.
Each cigar has an MSRP of $27 and production is limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars for each release.
The unique dimensions of each cigar relate to the person. Lewis is 6’2″, which gets translated to 6.2 inches for the cigar, and wore number 52, used for the ring gauge, during his career with the Baltimore Ravens. Foxx is 5’9″ and is 58-years-old.
González was once known as a popular custom roller in Cuba, working out of the Hotel Comodoro in Havana. There, he would make cigars that weren’t part of the official Habanos S.A. catalog.
Cuba is where he met Lewis, a noted cigar smoker, and after González left Cuba and opened up a factory in Nicaragua, he started to do contract work for Lewis, making cigars for him to smoke and give out at events. González told halfwheel that Lewis wanted to expand the relationship, hence the new Legendary Moment Series. Previously, Lewis had a line of cigars made by Rocky Patel.
Of note, the dimensions shown on the boxes in the featured image are incorrect. The production boxes have the correct corresponding dimensions.
